Always keep your coffee beans or coffee capsules in their original packaging. Make sure the packaging is always properly sealed after opening. You can use a beanarella wooden clip or plastic clips for this.
You can also store the packaging in an odorless ceramic container that is airtight. Both coffee beans and capsules should be stored in a cool place and not in direct sunlight. Optimal temperatures are around 15-18 degrees Celsius.
While it is often advised against storing coffee in the refrigerator due to foreign odors and the possibility of mold forming from moisture, we have had good experiences in our tests if the coffee is stored as described above. If you are away for 1-2 weeks, you can certainly store coffee in the refrigerator. For coffee beans, the freezer would be the better option. Never put coffee capsules in the freezer.
If you want to store coffee beans in the freezer, please wait until the beans have thawed after removing them, as you may otherwise damage the grinder of your coffee machine.
Improper Storage
Never store coffee packaging open, as the aromas will evaporate quickly. Coffee should never be stored at too high temperatures or exposed to direct sunlight.
Never transfer your coffee beans or capsules to other containers. Through the coffee oils, which settle over time, the rancid taste may transfer to the coffee beans.
Tip:
To always maintain optimal coffee quality, it is best to always have fresh coffee. No matter how well you store your coffee, nothing beats fresh product and timely consumption. Therefore, it may make more sense to buy smaller packages with less content.
