The Hario Buono Kettle V60 Drip Kettle made of copper is ideal for achieving a precise, controlled pour when preparing hand-brewed filter coffee. The curved neck facilitates an even pour without "cratering" in the centre of the ground coffee and allows the coffee to develop its maximum aroma. The kettle sits very balanced in the hand thanks to its lightweight construction. In combination with the Hario V60 coffee filter holders and other accessories from the Hario V60 range, coffee preparation becomes a special experience rewarded with exceptional coffee flavour.

The kettle is suitable for electric, ceramic and gas hobs.

 

Boil water with the Hario Buono and pour coffee

• The kettle has a full capacity of 0.9 litres; the effectively used capacity should be 0.7 litres of water.
• You should use approximately 6g of ground coffee per 100ml of water.
• The water temperature when brewing should be between 91° and 95°C.
• For good results, you should completely moisten the ground coffee with a small amount of water and then let it bloom for about 30 seconds.
• Then, starting from the centre, moving outward in concentric circles, pour the brew water slowly and evenly.
• The pouring time for 300ml of coffee should be approximately 90-120 seconds and the total flow-through time approximately 150 seconds.
• The pouring time for 600ml of coffee should be approximately 120-130 seconds and the total flow-through time approximately 150-180 seconds.
• If times deviate significantly, the pouring and/or total flow-through time can be adjusted by changing the grind size of the coffee.

 

Brewing tips for adjusting the taste to personal preferences

• If your coffee is too sour, increase the brew water temperature slightly.
• If your coffee is too bitter, decrease the brew water temperature slightly.
• If your coffee is too weak, increase the amount of coffee or extend the brewing time.
• If your coffee is too strong, decrease the amount of coffee.

Of course, coffee preparation is always a matter of taste, and fortunately filter coffee preparation with the V60 coffee filter is very forgiving. Accordingly, the brewing tips are meant as inspiration for experimenting with water temperatures, grind sizes and preparation times.
