The beanarella capsule system includes 14 organic and Fairtrade varieties roasted in Switzerland. Whether you prefer mild lungo, strong espresso or decaffeinated coffee, you can choose afresh for every cup. Good coffee from a capsule coffee machine starts with the bean. We roast our organic coffee in Switzerland in a small 20-kg drum roaster. We adjust the time and temperature to each variety to bring out its character, from mild coffee to strong espresso. 100% of the energy used for our roasting comes from biogas.
Depending on the variety, roasting takes around 12 to 20 minutes. Roasting time and temperature are adjusted together to achieve the desired flavour.
Do you prefer your lungo mild and balanced? Caffè Peru is a good place to start. For a strong espresso, we recommend espresso italiano. Our coffee capsules make it easy to try something new: you can choose a different variety with every cup, even when everyone at home has their own favourite coffee.
Yes. Choose Decaf Espresso Mexico for an espresso or Decaf Andante for espresso and lungo. You can switch between regular and decaffeinated coffee too.
What goes into your daily coffee matters too. That is why we use only organic coffee and also have it tested for contaminants by independent laboratories. These checks complement organic certification. From selecting our beans to testing the coffee, we pay attention to what ends up in your cup.
No. Our capsules contain only roasted and ground coffee, with no added flavourings or preservatives. Terms such as “cocoa notes” or “nutty” describe the flavour of the coffee.
Would you like to enjoy your favourite beans with your capsule coffee machine too? Our empty capsules for the Nori let you choose which coffee goes into your cup. Grind the beans, fill the capsule with ground coffee and place it in the machine. This also lets you try our organic coffee beans with your Nori.
If you use whole coffee beans, you will also need a coffee grinder. You can fill the capsules directly with pre-ground coffee. Our video guide shows you how to fill and insert an empty capsule.

Every Nori comes with 40 free capsules for you to try. We deliver all capsule coffee machines free of charge within two working days.
Yes, with its own capsule system: Nespresso® capsules do not fit the Nori, and our capsules do not fit Nespresso® machines. Instead of aluminium, our capsules are made from compostable bioplastic, and the coffee is 100% organic and Fairtrade, roasted in Switzerland. Empty capsules and soft pads also mean you are not limited to our capsules.
Our 14 organic and Fairtrade varieties in compostable capsules, beanarella empty capsules for your own ground coffee, and soft pads such as Senseo pads. ESE pads and capsules from other systems are not suitable.
A pack of 10 capsules costs CHF 4.60 to CHF 4.90 – less than CHF 0.50 per cup. With empty capsules (100 for CHF 15), the cost is CHF 0.15 per capsule plus your coffee. Shipping is free on orders of CHF 89 or more. Orders of CHF 250 or more receive a 5% discount, and orders of CHF 500 or more receive 10%.
Your Nori capsule coffee machine comes with a five-year warranty. If you have a problem with your machine, email support@beanarella.ch – we will discuss the next steps with you personally. Our troubleshooting guides also answer many questions.
Yes. They are made from compostable bioplastic and can go in the green waste bin if your municipality accepts kitchen waste. Otherwise, return them to us free of charge: choose “beanarella Recycling” as the shipping method when ordering, and we will include a return label. We do not recommend home composting.
It is 13.5 cm wide, 23.5 cm high and 29 cm deep, and weighs 2.9 kg. The water tank holds 0.7 litres and can be removed for filling. The cable is 1 metre long. Leave some space above the machine so you can open the lever comfortably.
The Nori has two programmable buttons. You save your preferred cup volume once, for example 40 ml for espresso and 110 ml for lungo. After that, one press starts the brewing process. Our video guides show you how to set the amounts.
Very little: the water tank and brewing unit can be removed and rinsed. How often you need to descale depends on your water hardness. The easiest way is to use our Premium Descaler and the descaling video guide.
Yes. At 13.5 cm wide and 850 watts, it is compact and has modest power requirements. It runs directly from a mains hook-up. To operate it independently from the leisure battery, you need a pure sine wave inverter with a continuous output of at least 1000 watts.
